When did you join Women in Transport?
2023
Why did you join Women in Transport?
To connect with more Women in Transport and to increase diversity in the transport industry.
What do you enjoy most about being part of Women in Transport?
The networking element, the drive and passion of all members I have met so far and the fantastic events!
Current job title
Head of Bid Management
What does your current job involve?
I am responsible for preparing and submitting bids and proposals offering our battery monitoring and smart charging solutions and managed services. We can model fleet transitions from conventional buses, vans and Heavy Goods Vehicles/lorries to electric fleets. See more at www.hitachizerocarbon.com
What's the best thing about your job?
Working collaboratively with a great team and the feeling of having submitted a high quality proposal, ideally a winning one!
How did you become involved in the transport industry?
Working at Siemens' Global Cities Center of Competence I worked with stakeholders and city officials around the world and realised quickly that one of the key areas of concern of any city is how to best and most efficiently moving people around whilst considering the carbon footprint. Transport has been a key area of interest of mine for a long time now. After having worked for Hitachi Rail as a Bid Manager I joined the Hitachi ZeroCarbon team which is focused on fleet electronification and supporting customers to manage this transition.
What do you like about working in transport?
It is a fascinating industry and touches upon everyone's life but also on various areas ranging from planning to logistics to IT and manufacturing, etc. It has been a great journey and I would like to share my experience and connect with more like minded colleagues!
What are you most proud of?
Being able to inspire the next generation with my journey and bringing more young people into the transport industry with our Female Talent Initiative as part of our Electric Freightway Programme. The Electric Freightway project intends to help kick start the transition process by implementing eHGV charging infrastructure across the UK and providing HGV operators with the information they need to plan the successful adoption of fully electric vehicles.
The project is funded as part of the Department for Transport and Innovate UK-backed Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrator programme.
Our partnership packages are a flexible and accessible way to support Women in Transport and your organisation's equity, diversity and inclusion objectives. Learn more about our partnership opportunities here and contact us if you would like a meeting to discuss how we can work together.
