We’re thrilled to announce that our Navigating Parenthood whitepaper has been highly commended for the CIHT 2025 Award for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion!
This recognition highlights the vital work of the Women in Transport Intersectionality workstream. The whitepaper tackles the challenges faced by working parents—especially mothers—in the transport sector. Our whitepaper exposes the motherhood penalty, where mothers earn on average 7% less than non-mothers, and offers practical solutions to close this gap.
Combining data and lived experience, our ambition is to raise the bar on equity in the transport sector by sparking industry-wide conversations, helping to shape policy recommendations, and encouraging more family friendly policies to retain talented women in transport.
Huge thanks to Joanna Hill, Shireen Ali-Khan, Rebecca Piggott, Eleanor Fitton, our incredible membership community, and Kier for sponsoring this important work.
It was wonderful for Joanna and Rebecca to present at the awards thanks to Kier and collect the Highly Commended certificate in person.
We’re honoured to be recognised among such inspiring projects and will continue to drive progress toward a fairer, more inclusive industry.
