Transport for Wales celebrated women across its organisation with an in-person event, organised by its Women’s network, EmpowHER.
The event aimed to create space for conversation, connection and collective action, bringing colleagues together to reflect on what empowerment looks like in practice and how we continue to make TfW an inclusive place for women. Colleagues attended from all areas of the business and at all levels, and invited Bernie Davies to lead the session.
Bernie is a multiple award-winning TEDx speaker, bestselling author and recognised leader in diversity, entrepreneurship and inclusion. With over 21 years’ experience in law and a wide range of leadership roles across Wales and internationally. Her work is guided by a principle that sits closely with the values of EmpowHER: “We go together or not at all.”
The workshop was followed by a fireside chat with Bernie and Marie Daly, the Chief Operating Officer at TfW. Talking about empowerment, leadership, and the role organisations play in creating environments where women are not just present but supported to succeed.
With overwhelming positive feedback and increased membership of EmpowHER, the EDI team at TfW hopes that this event will empower more networks to organise similar events, promoting the wonderful diversity of their colleagues.
