Women in Transport is excited to announce the renewal of our partnership with Walk Wheel Cycle Trust who have been supporting us for nearly 5 years. Established in 1977, Walk Wheel Cycle Trust makes it possible for everyone to walk, wheel and cycle. The charity believes that everybody deserves to be able to connect with the places that matter to them, safely and accessibly. They are trusted by public and private sector partners to deliver projects that transform routes, spaces and travel habits.
Their latest strategy focuses on:
● Building a National Cycle Network to help bring everyone closer to the places and people they love through walking, wheeling and cycling,
● Connecting thriving neighbourhoods where everyone is free to live and move with ease,
● Empowering millions to walk, wheel and cycle for their health, their wellbeing, and their world.
Sonya Byers, CEO at Women in Transport, commented on the renewed partnership:
"We are delighted to renew our partnership with Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, who have been valued supporters of Women in Transport for nearly five years. We are proud to support the women that work at the Trust with their professional development and to raise the visibility of the important work that the charity does to promote walking, wheeling and cycling.”
Beth, Emma and Leila, Co-Chairs of the Women's Network at Walk Wheel Cycle Trust added:
"Walk Wheel Cycle Trust’s Women’s Network plays an important role in creating a space for networking, development and shared learning across the organisation. In partnership with Women in Transport, through local and online events and sharing of resources, we’re supporting women at all stages of their careers to build their confidence and develop professionally in the sector. So, we're pleased to be renewing our partnership with Women in Transport to further support our colleagues, and to continue to promote a diverse and empowered transport workforce."
