EmpowHER is the Women’s Space, part Gender Network at Transport for Wales. This network aims to increase the visibility of women within the organisation, educate colleagues on women’s health and wellbeing, and drive positive change.
In 2025, the EDI team relaunched small and previously unengaged networks, implementing stronger governance to enable these networks to create impactful change. Each network now has a Senior Leader Ambassador who champions their voices. Marie Daily, the Chief Operating Officer for TfW, serves as the Senior Leader Ambassador for EmpowHER. She advocates for women across TfW and beyond.
EmpowHER focuses on connecting women throughout TfW, ensuring that everyone feels seen, heard, valued, understood, and supported. The network celebrates diverse voices and proudly advocates for women, standing united in their commitment to one another.
Since its launch, EmpowHER has made significant strides in examining how TfW can create more suitable roles for women, families, and caregivers. They are currently collaborating with the recruitment team, who are developing a new system that allows job roles to be advertised as part-time, job share, and to include flexible working options whenever possible.
Together, they are building a community where every woman can thrive!
