Shaping better support following serious incidents

The D&I Bus Group is looking into how the bus industry can provide more consistent and compassionate support to people affected by serious incidents.

This topic has been the focus of Women in Transport's Diversity & Inclusion Bus Group following an inspiring presentation from Sarah Hope on the Sarah Hope Line initiative at the end of last year. The group began exploring how the UK bus sector can foster a culture of openness, learning and compassion when serious incidents occur.

As part of this work, we are seeking views from across the wider transport sector to better understand current practice and identify opportunities to share learning.

The project is focused on understanding:

How members of the public are supported following serious incidents.

·                How colleagues affected by these incidents are cared for.

·                How the industry can develop a consistent, compassionate framework for supporting everyone impacted.

To help inform this work, we've created a short survey that takes no more than 10 minutes to complete. And your insights will help shape future guidance and best practice across the bus sector. Access the survey here.

Please also share it with colleagues across your network if you think they could help. All responses are anonymous.
