Women in Transport is excited to be seeking applications for the Chair of our Board.
We'd love you to consider joining us at a pivotal moment in our journey. We're looking for an inspirational, strategic leader who is passionate about gender equity and ready to help shape the future of the transport sector.
About the role
Women in Transport has grown significantly in recent years - from 120 members in 2017 to almost 2,000 today, and from a London network to a national organisation with 9 regional hubs. As we look ahead to delivering our 10-year strategy, our new Chair will play a crucial role in:
· Leading the Board in fulfilling its governance responsibilities
· Acting as a trusted mentor and partner to our CEO
· Building a new Board, designed from the top down to match our future ambitions
· Representing Women in Transport as an ambassador with stakeholders, partners, and the wider community
This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior leader to shape the strategic direction of a fast-growing national organisation, and to help champion women's leadership and equity across transport at the highest level.
The role is voluntary, with reasonable expenses reimbursed, and requires approximately 4 days per month. The term is two years, with the option to extend to a third, subject to Board approval.

Process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a first-stage virtual interview with Karen Camilleri (MD, Camilleri Appointments), Katie Hulland (Past President) and Gary Lincoln (External Partnerships Lead). Final-stage interviews will be held with Sonya Byers OBE (CEO) and Jo Field OBE (Chair).
