Women in Transport is delighted to celebrate a continued partnership with our valued partner, Kier Infrastructure, who has supported us for over 5 years now. Kier Infrastructure designs, builds, and maintains infrastructure for the Highways, Rail, Aviation, and Ports sectors, with a common goal of connecting people.
People are at the heart of Kier Infrastructure business and they believe that the success of the company depends upon their ability to attract and retain a dedicated workforce. Their colleague D&I networks have over 1000 engaged members and act as a voice for people to share their experiences and highlight areas for change. They are a fundamental part of Kier Infrastructure D&I roadmap and comprise groups which are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace through clear action plans.
Sonya Byers, CEO of Women in Transport, expressed her enthusiasm about the renewal:
"We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Kier Infrastructure, whose unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion has been truly inspiring. In the transport sector, we can all look to Kier Infrastructure as an example of great practice on diversity and inclusion. They are truly pushing boundaries and deeply committed to driving change. I am so grateful to the Kier Infrastructure team for working with us to support women across the transport sector. They helped us launch our North West Regional Hub in 2023 which is thriving and now our largest region. Kier Infrastructure’s outstanding support has also been instrumental in driving forward initiatives such as our Navigating Parenthood whitepaper, helping to shine a light on the challenges faced by women in the transport sector and identify practical steps for change. This is a powerful campaign that was Highly Commended at the CIHT Awards in 2025. We look forward to continuing our work together to create a more equitable and inclusive industry for all."
Vicki Glover, People Director for Kier Infrastructure added:
“Kier Infrastructure’s partnership with Women in Transport has gone from strength to strength since it first launched in 2021. Through this relationship, we’re able to connect with others in the industry and work together on issues we’re all facing so we can create a positive, lasting impact.
We have also seen a number of women in our business go on the Women in Transport LEAD programme, which has positively impacted their career journey’s, empowering them in the workplace and building their confidence.
“We’re dedicated to driving change where it is needed in our industry, and continuing to promote it as a place where everyone can thrive. We look forward to continuing our work with Women in Transport, making the sector a more inclusive place for all.”
