Why did you join Women in Transport?
I needed support and a more gender balanced network in my career as a young woman in a male dominated workplace and industry.
How long have you been involved with Women in Transport?
Since it began in 2005 as a Member, then I was delighted to be elected to Vice President in 2021.
What do you enjoy most about being part of Women in Transport?
Seeing others flourish, sounds cliche but it’s about supporting people which in turn enables positive changes and real actions. We have fantastic members, super volunteers, like minded partners and many male allies! As an organisation we have this continual evolution and growth, regional branches being just one example. By working together and creating safe and nurturing environments we offer more opportunities to learn and connect. I really enjoy seeing that in action. Networking with purpose, learning with power and sometimes just being human and having a good old fashioned chat!

Senior Associate Project Manager
What does your current job involve?
I work for major transport and infrastructure projects advisory supporting the management and delivery of large scale multiple site/regional scale programmes including High Speed 2, Lower Thames Crossing and more. My current role is working on utilities infrastructure and major project logistics. Transport is everywhere! I also champion EDI and Neurodiversity, am a keen Mentor and love to empower people and teams to develop and grow.
What's the best thing about your job?
Working with amazing people and the scale of the projects I am involved in. Knowing that what we do will impact the industry and UK population now and in the future keeps me focused.
How did you become involved in the transport industry?
I am a self confessed transport geek! I wrote my undergraduate thesis on the impacts of the Congestion Charge on business and after graduating applied for a job with Transport for London as a trainee Traffic Control Engineer. I've been working in transport and infrastructure ever since.
What do you like about working in transport?
The variety! So far… I’ve worked in operational, planning, construction, logistics and commercial roles across highways, rail, aviation, ITS and more. I’m always learning and I’m grateful of every opportunity. Transport has a vast array of opportunities, something for everyone.
What are you most proud of?
I’m a very proud Mum of two adventurous boys and they love transport! I’m proud that my work has a legacy, the projects I've been involved in, the growth of Women in Transport and the people I've had the opportunity to work with are all so important for the future
