When the Women in Transport Podcast launched, our goal was simple: to give a voice to the women shaping and moving the transport sector. Two seasons later, it’s become so much more: a living archive of real stories, hard-won lessons, and practical insights about inclusion, leadership and change.
Looking Back — Powerful Stories from Across the Transport Sector
Season 1 introduced listeners to the pioneers breaking new ground in transport and logistics, from engineers and planners to senior leaders. Season 2 went deeper, exploring topics such as flexible working, allyship, the motherhood penalty, and mentoring. Each episode highlighted not only individual journeys but also the systemic challenges and opportunities within our industry.
What’s made the podcast resonate is its storytelling — honest conversations, actionable ideas and intersectional perspectives that reflect the real diversity of the sector. Across both seasons, listeners have heard about career highs and lows, the impact of policies and programmes, and the importance of networks like Women in Transport.
Season 3 — A Landmark Year
Now, as Women in Transport marks its 20th anniversary, we’re launching Season 3 with a very special episode recorded live at the London Transport Museum AGM.
In this opening episode, Jo Field reflects on the organisation’s journey — from launching our Advance Mentoring and Lead Development Programme to growing regional hubs, safety initiatives, and our Intersectionality Programme. She also looks ahead to future goals, sponsorship opportunities and a new chapter of leadership.
Season 3 will continue our tradition of impactful storytelling with even more voices from across the industry:
Women leading on safety and security initiatives.
Champions of intersectionality and inclusion.
Stories from those making practical change in policy, infrastructure and workplace culture.
The podcast offers a unique window into the stories of those working in our sector, into what’s working and what still needs to change. Expect practical insights, honest discussions and inspiration from women (and allies) who are actively shaping the future.
