Women in Transport is delighted to renew its partnership with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), part of the West Midlands Combined Authority. TfWM is committed to delivering transport that is safe, reliable, affordable and accessible for everyone.
TfWM is at the forefront of improving transport safety across the West Midlands, working with police, local authorities and regional partners to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on the region's roads by 50% by 2030. Through a coordinated approach focused on safer roads, safer speeds, safer vehicles and safer behaviours, it is helping to make every journey safer.
As part of the Safer Travel Partnership, TfWM also works to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour across the public transport network. Using intelligence from operators, frontline officers and the public, specialist teams proactively identify and respond to issues.
Supported by more than 6,000 CCTV cameras monitored 24/7, TfWM can rapidly detect incidents and coordinate responses across the region, helping to keep passengers safe and the network moving.
By combining innovation, intelligence and strong partnerships, TfWM is helping to build a safer, more secure and more resilient transport network for everyone who lives, works and travels in the West Midlands.
