Track and Trail: A walk through Manchester’s rail heritage

Join Women in Transport for a guided walk exploring some of Manchester’s rail landmarks - past, present and future.

Led by Jennie Harrison, Civil Engineer and Associate at Pell Frischmann and passionate advocate for local transport history, this lunchtime walk will take in some of the city’s most fascinating railway sights.

Jennie will share her insights into the structures, stories and significance of:

  • Castlefield Viaduct

  • Manchester Liverpool Road Railway Station

  • Ordsall Chord (viewed from Aviva Studios)

📍 Meeting point: Beside the cycle sculpture in front of Manchester Deansgate railway station

⌚ Time: Please arrive just before 12:00 on Thursday, 12th June

👟 What to wear: Sensible footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.

Women in Transport members are invited to enjoy a coffee (or alternative) and a snack (cake, pastry, etc) at Aviva Studios after the walk - on us!
