Join us for an incredible line up of inspiring women to celebrate our 20th anniversary in Scotland, in partnership with Scottish Women in Rail .

As 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of Women in Transport and the 200 years of the modern railway, the Scotland branches of Women in Rail and Women in Transport are thrilled to announce an exciting joint event, featuring a host of inspirational women within the Scottish transport sector. 

Join us at the Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh on Thursday 5th June to hear tales from their journeys and their experience of climbing the ladder through some of the most male dominated of environments. 
 
Transport Minister, Fiona Hyslop will deliver a keynote speech, before what promises to be a lively and informative panel discussion featuring:

  • Hannah Ross, CEO of Scottish Rail Holdings

  • Joanne Maguire, MD ScotRail

  • Valerie Davidson, CEO of SPT

  • Stephanie Tobyn, Director ORR

  • Alison Irvine, CEO of Transport Scotland

  • Diane Burke, COO Calmac 


Facilitated by Eva MacInnes, Vice President, COWI UK and Women in Rail Scotland steering group member, this discussion will delve into the heart of the stories of these inspiring female leaders. 
 
Registration will begin from 5.30pm, with the event kicking off at 6pm prompt. The event will close at 8pm, following the keynote and panellists, with networking a refreshments.
