About the Women in Transport Yorkshire Hub

Women in Transport Yorkshire’s mission is to accelerate progress in the transport industry — working together, with all genders, for a better future.

Women in Transport Yorkshire was launched in March 2022 and has been curating events, making connections, and pushing for better representation of women in all aspects of transport ever since.

Transport needs women: We exist to emphasise that our sector has talent shortages and needs diverse talent to innovate and grow. Women bring unique perspectives to enhance service delivery and team performance.

Diverse careers, real impact: We aim to demonstrate — to current employees and the next generation — the wide range of roles and opportunities available, and how these contribute to society.

Be part of our journey

There are a variety of ways you can get involved:

  • Individual membership: Our annual membership provides access to monthly events, both Yorkshire and beyond. You can obtain your membership here and select the ‘Yorkshire’ region.

  • Corporate sponsorship: Our tiered packages offer a flexible and accessible way to support Women in Transport and your organisation's equality, diversity and inclusion objectives, please contact us to find out more and discuss in more detail.

  • Volunteering: We are always happy to welcome new volunteers to help us run the hub. From helping with the logistics of event planning through to enabling strategic connections we would love to hear from you if you have ideas and/or a bit of spare time.   • Partner organisation: We greatly admire the fantastic work already done by a number of like-minded organisations in Yorkshire and we are excited to combine resources and organise shared activities for members. If you are interested in partnering with us, please get in touch.

Upcoming events in Yorkshire

Our committee meets monthly online and is made up of people from a range of organisations across Yorkshire.

We arrange open meetups in different locations every few months. 

Recent events have included a tour of Defence School of Transport near Beverley, mental health awareness in Sheffield, and planned events include Bradford, York, and a return to Sheffield!

Women in Rail, Women in Transport and Women in Bus and Coach are coming together for an event in Bradford.

We’re joining forces for this tripartite event to spark some conversations, build relationships, and explore how we can support each other—especially the next generation of women entering the field.
